Please read these Terms carefully before using NutraSafe. They contain important information about how the app works, what its food data can and cannot be relied on for, and what you must do to keep yourself safe — particularly if you have allergies or medical conditions.
NutraSafe is a mobile application operated by Aaron Keen, sole trader, United Kingdom ("NutraSafe", "we", "us", "our").
Contact Email: contact@nutrasafe.co.uk
NutraSafe helps you log meals, scan products, track food reactions, monitor allergens, view nutrition information and explore patterns in what you eat. These Terms govern your access to and use of the app and the related website at nutrasafe.co.uk.
By creating an account, ticking the in-app acceptance box during onboarding, or continuing to use NutraSafe after these Terms become effective, you agree to be bound by them and by our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, you must stop using the app and uninstall it.
We may update these Terms (see § 17). When we make material changes we will require you to accept the updated version inside the app before you can continue to use it.
You must be 16 years or older and legally able to form a binding contract in the United Kingdom to use NutraSafe. NutraSafe is not designed for, marketed to, or appropriate for children under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and you become aware that a child under 16 is using the app, please contact us and we will close the account.
The app is offered in the United Kingdom. We make no representation that NutraSafe is appropriate or available for use in any other jurisdiction.
You may create an account using an email and password, or via Sign in with Apple.
You are responsible for:
You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account.
Downloading NutraSafe is free. Some features (including the AI Coach, AI food recognition, the Fasting tracker, the Workouts tab, full reaction-pattern analysis, and lifting of free-tier daily limits) require a NutraSafe Pro subscription.
We do not process or store any payment card information ourselves. Refund requests for App Store purchases must go to Apple, not to us.
You may enter food logs, photos, weights, reactions, symptoms, free-text notes, and similar content ("User Content").
You retain ownership of your User Content. You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process, transmit and display it solely to operate the app, sync your data across your devices, run the features you have asked us to run (e.g. AI Coach, reaction correlation), and improve the service in line with our Privacy Policy.
You must not upload anything that is unlawful, defamatory, deliberately misleading, infringes another person's rights, or which could harm other users.
If you submit a correction or contribution to our food database (e.g. through the Cleanser flow or a "Wrong macros / wrong ingredients" report), you grant us the right to incorporate that correction into the database for the benefit of all users, free of charge.
This is the single most important section in these Terms. Please read it in full.
Most of our food information is crowdsourced. It comes from public databases (including Open Food Facts), reference works (including McCance & Widdowson's The Composition of Foods), barcode look-ups, optical character recognition of product labels, and entries submitted by other users. We clean, de-duplicate, cross-reference and verify as much as we can — but we cannot guarantee that any specific entry is complete, current or correct.
In particular:
NutraSafe is a reference, not a verdict. Use it to explore food, spot patterns, and ask better questions — not as the final word on what is safe or healthy for you.
You must check the actual product packaging before you eat or feed someone else — especially if you have a food allergy, intolerance, coeliac disease, FPIES, or any medical condition; if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; or if you are feeding a child, an elderly person, or anyone vulnerable.
The legal allergen and nutrition information printed on the physical packaging, or published on the manufacturer's own website, is the authoritative source. What we show is not.
If a product on the packaging conflicts with what NutraSafe shows, trust the packaging. Then please report the discrepancy in-app so we can fix it for everyone.
If you have a severe or anaphylactic allergy, do not rely on NutraSafe — or any third-party food app — as your only safety check. Carry your prescribed medication (e.g. adrenaline auto-injector), read the label every time, and when in doubt ask the manufacturer or your pharmacist.
If you think you are having an allergic reaction, an anaphylactic event, or any medical emergency, stop using the app and call 999 (UK) or your local emergency number.
NutraSafe is a tracking and reference tool. It is not a doctor, dietitian, registered nutritionist, gastroenterologist, allergist, paediatrician or pharmacist, and nothing it shows is a diagnosis, treatment plan, or prescription.
Features including the AI Coach, Suspected Triggers, reaction correlation, the Fasting tracker, Workouts, NutraSafe Grade, Processing Reality, NRV summaries and meal plans are informational only. They are designed to help you bring better data to your GP, dietitian, allergist or other qualified professional — not to replace them.
Do not start, stop or change any diet, fast, supplement, medication, elimination protocol, exercise regime or feeding plan on the basis of anything NutraSafe says without first speaking to a qualified health professional. NutraSafe is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, under 18, over 65, immunocompromised, diabetic, take prescription medication, have an eating disorder or a history of one, or have any chronic condition, please rely on your healthcare team. NutraSafe is not designed to manage any of these.
Some features generate text, scores or recommendations using artificial intelligence — including the AI Coach, suspected-trigger correlation, suggested meal plans, processing summaries, ingredient explanations, and similar. AI output:
You remain solely responsible for any decision you make on the basis of AI-generated content. If an AI feature makes a recommendation that conflicts with advice from your GP, dietitian, allergist or other qualified professional, follow the professional — not the app.
You agree not to:
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if we reasonably believe you have breached this section.
Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, who processes it on our behalf, and your rights under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage) to host and process your account and usage data. Some data may also be processed by AI providers we engage to power AI features, strictly for the purpose of generating responses to you. We do not sell your personal data.
All app design, source code, trade marks, written content, scoring methodologies, illustrations and icons are owned by Aaron Keen, except for third-party content used under licence (e.g. extracts from public reference databases, which remain the property of their respective rights holders).
You may not reproduce, distribute, publicly display, or create derivative works from any part of NutraSafe except for your own personal, non-commercial use within the app.
We aim to keep NutraSafe available and reliable but cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation. The app depends on third-party infrastructure (Apple, Google Firebase, AI providers, search providers, content delivery networks) which can themselves go down.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, including features previously available on the free tier, where we reasonably need to in order to keep the service viable, secure, or accurate.
You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deletion is irreversible.
We may suspend or terminate your access immediately, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, misuse the service, place us in legal or regulatory risk, or use the service in a way that could harm other users.
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes:
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version number and effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Where the change is material (for example, expanding what data we use, changing how subscriptions work, or changing your or our liability), we will require you to accept the new version in-app before you can continue to use NutraSafe. Your continued use after a non-material update is taken to be acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that if you are a consumer resident in another part of the United Kingdom you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your home jurisdiction.
NutraSafe is downloaded from the Apple App Store. Your download and installation of the app are also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Apple EULA"), available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/.
Where these Terms of Use and the Apple EULA both apply, both are in force. In the rare case of a direct conflict, the Apple EULA controls the App Store transaction itself (download, payment, refund, account-level rules) and these Terms of Use control your in-app conduct, our service obligations to you, and our handling of your data.
Apple Inc. is not a party to these Terms of Use. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app, no warranty obligation, and no responsibility for handling claims about the app, intellectual-property infringement claims, or product-liability claims — all of which are our responsibility, not Apple's. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms of Use, with the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
For data-protection enquiries (subject access requests, deletion, rectification), please email the address above with "Data request" in the subject line. We aim to respond within one calendar month, in line with the UK GDPR.
